Joint meeting of the Supervisory and Academic Boards of the Swiss Academic Institute of Law (SAIL Group)

On the October 27, 2021, the Office of Human Rights Commissioner held a joint meeting of the Supervisory and Academic Boards of the Swiss Academic Institute of Law (SAIL Group). The event was moderated by Alexey Klishin, a member of the Presidium of the ALR, President of the Swiss Academic Institute of Law (SAIL Group).

The participants of the meeting: Human Rights Commissioner, member of the Presidium of the ALR Tatiana Moskalkova, Co-Chairman of ALR, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Swiss Academic Institute of Law (SAIL Group) Sergey Stepashin, Member of the Bureau of Presidium of the ALR, Director of The Institute Of Legislation And Comparative Law, Academician of RAS, Academic Supervisor of the Swiss Academic Institute of Law  (SAIL Group)Taliya Khabriyeva State Secretary — Vice-President for Relations with Regulatory and Administrative Authorities of Norilsk Nickel, Chairman Of The Board Of Trustees of the Swiss Academic Institute of Law (SAIL Group) Dmitriy Pristanskov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the ALR, Stanislav Alexandrov, First Vice-Rector of the Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSAL) Elena Gracheva, Vice-President For Academic Affairs of the Saratov State Law Academy Olga Scherbakova, Vice-Rector on Strategic Development of the Saint Petersburg University of Economics, Nikolai Toivonen, Dean of The School of Law of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration Oleg Zaitsev, Director of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property Oleg Neretin, Head of Department for International Development of the Office of the Association of Lawyers of Russia Cha Mi Vu.

The meeting was also attended by the representatives of foreign partners of the ALR: Secretary General of International Relations Commission of the Brazilian Bar Association, Member of IBA Council, Bruno Barata Lawyer, President of the Bar Association of India Prashant Kumar.

Introducing the session, Co-Chairman of the ALR, Sergey Stepashin, thanked Tatiana Moskalkova and the Office of Human Rights Commissioner of the Russian Federation for providing the venue for the meeting. 

«Today at the meeting of the Supervisory and Academic Boards, we discuss the results of the 2021 academic year of the Swiss Academic Institute of Law (SAIL Group). I would like to point out that the number of Universities involved in network educational interaction is increasing. At the moment, there are seventeen Partner Universities of the Swiss Academic Institute of Law»,— he continued.


« In order to expand its activities, the Academy is developing new educational programmes, including those with foreign partners. This year, the Academy was working on programmes in Legal Regulation of Artificial Intelligence, in Environmental Law, and online programmes in Intellectual Property are being implemented with the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (Rospatent). Together with Brazilian, Indian and Swiss universities we discuss the matter of joint short-term programmes in 2022 », — Sergei Stepashin added.

 

Alexey Klishin told about the activities of the Swiss Academic Institute of Law (SAIL Group) in 2021 and the Academy’s work plan for 2022.

Olga Scherbakova reported on the grant support for the students of the International Law and Comparative Jurisprudence joint programme in the Saratov State Law Academy.

Oleg Zaitsev spoke on Master’s degree programmes of the Academy.

The development of international cooperation was described in detail by Barata Bruno and Nikolai Elistratov.

Dmitriy Pristanskov spoke on the formation of the Board of Trustees of the Academy.

The meeting also addressed other issues, including the activities of the International Legal Education Center.
